ABSTRACT
Metabolic health is a crucial determinant of an individual’s quality of life. The assessment of metabolic health involves the metabolic risk factors manifestation of chronic non-communicable diseases. The purpose of this review report is to address the factors influencing the metabolic health status and its corresponding recommendation. Previous studies focused on lifestyle components were reviewed. The lifestyle components involved were dietary aspects (approximately, 30% calorie restriction, dietary medium-chain triglycerides), physical activity and sedentary time, educational levels, and smoking status. The reviewed scientific studies were in two categories, namely, animal experimentation and cross-sectional studies. Therefore, metabolic health could be enhanced and maintained by taking on healthy lifestyle habits, mainly dietary habits, and physical activity.
