ABSTRACT
Background: Atherosclerosis and osteoporosis are the main health and nutritional concerns. There have been discrepancies on a possible link between the two diseases. Sources of Data/Study selection: Data from health statistics, survey reports and a number of published research studies (both cross-sectional and longitudinal studies as well as descriptive), published. The data searches strategies mainly concentrated on human studies and excluded those with incomplete or irrelevant conclusions. Data Extraction: PubMed, Medline, Science Direct, Research GATE are the electronic databases and abstracting systems that were used for literature search. Most of the studies found a relation between Atherosclerosis and osteoporosis. Still great majority of some investigations negate any such relation. There may be many possible reasons for this disagreement. However, recently, it is believed that the two diseases possible link with one another through widely prevalent dietary acid load. We highlight in this review the possibility of dietary acid load which establish a possible link between the two diseases.
